What You May Experience During or After a Session
Every person’s body responds in its own way during a Spinal Flow session. Because the work focuses on the nervous system, the experience is often very gentle and deeply relaxing. As the body begins to shift out of a stress response, many people notice changes that reflect the nervous system moving toward a more balanced state.
During a session, some people feel a sense of deep relaxation, warmth along the spine, or gentle wave-like movements in the body. Others may notice small muscle twitches, changes in breathing, or a feeling of energy moving through the spine. These responses are natural signs that the nervous system is beginning to release tension and restore communication within the body. Sometimes people may also experience emotional release or a feeling of lightness, as the body lets go of stored stress patterns. For others, the session simply feels calm and grounding, like the body is finally able to slow down.
After a session, people often report feeling more relaxed, clear-minded, and present. Some notice improvements in sleep, reduced pain in the body, or a sense of greater energy and well-being. Because the body continues processing and adjusting after the session, changes may continue to unfold over the following hours or days. Each person’s experience is unique, and the body releases stress in its own timing and in layers. Spinal Flow supports this natural process by creating a safe environment for the nervous system to shift out of long-held stress and return to a more balanced state.
Assessment & Care Plan
Before beginning sessions, I perform a gentle assessment of your spine by observing your posture and guiding you through a few simple movements. This helps identify areas where your body may be holding tension, imbalance, or protective patterns.
Because the spine houses the nervous system, these areas can often be linked to discomfort or pain in different parts of the body. Based on this assessment, we create a personalized care plan tailored to your needs.
To support consistent change, a series of at least 12 sessions is usually recommended. This allows the nervous system time to build trust, release stored stress layer by layer, and restore balance. Some people notice changes early, while others need more time — every body is different.
When needed, sessions can be more frequent, even daily, as Spinal Flow is gentle and safe. Others may choose a weekly rhythm that fits their lifestyle.
During this process, the body may go through different phases. At times, tension or discomfort may temporarily increase or shift as the body begins releasing stored stress, usually settling within about 24 hours. It is also normal for sensations to fluctuate as the body continues to adjust.
Even when changes feel subtle, the body is still working. Over time, many people experience reduced pain, improved balance, and a greater sense of ease in their bodies.
